Officers and Aides of the Early Camp

	Commander:  David King, born in 1962, is a proud native of Alexandria, Virginia.  As a young boy he lived in Manassas, Virginia, where he enjoyed playing in Bull Run Creek.  In 1977 David and his family moved to Northwest Tampa.  He and Cathy have been married for 28 years, and have been blessed with two sons, Andy and Travis.  David joined the SCV under his 2nd Great Grandfather, William H. Thompson, 45th Virginia Infantry, Ferbers Brigade, to honor his family and to make sure that the memory and the truth about the Southern Cause are never forgotten.  He is a very active member of the Early Camp Color Guard. Was the former 2nd Lieutenant Commander of the Early Camp and is also the Captain of 3rd Battalion, Company D of the SCV Mechanized Cavalry.
	1st Lieutenant Commander: Vacant
	Adjutant: Mark Ippolito was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. Hobbies include riding his motorcycle and 4x4 mudding. He is also a member of the SCV Mechanized Cavalry.
	Judge Advocate General:  Kurt Anderson moved to Tampa in 2006, from Ohio, where he had lived all of his life.  His mother was from Arkansas and he grew up with good Southern cooking.  Kurt's 2nd Great Grandfather, Charles Bateman, owned a plantation, The Bateman Place in Tippah County, Mississippi.  Kurt's Great Grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Saraloo Bateman (there is a good Southern name) was one of 11 children.  Four of her brothers fought in the CSA Army and a fifth was only 12 when war broke out, so he served as a drummer boy.  Of the four who fought, one (Thomas) was killed at Chickamauga, one (Alfred) died in a Yankee prison camp (Camp Douglas), and two survived.  Kurt had a total of 14 ancestors who fought for The Cause.  He is aware of three who gave their lives, although there are two others that he does not know when or how they died.  Kurt is married to Ruth, for 36 years, and they have two adult daughters, Heather and Nicole; both of whom live in Alexandria, VA.  He is a Certified Financial Planner, who works for BB&T Investment Services, serving BB&T clients with all manner of investments and annuities.  It is with pride that Kurt is a member of the General Jubal A. Early Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, not only to preserve the memory of those who died for The Cause, but because he sees a similarity between the fight 150 years ago and today.
